Sail sunset

Sail past the Statue of Liberty, sip under the Brooklyn Bridge, and watch the sunset paint the NYC skyline—all in one afternoon. Private charters for groups who want to escape the crowds and heat without the airport hassle. Our guests call it a mini-vacation without leaving the city.

Weather, Cancellation, and Rescheduling Policy

By completing your booking, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. These terms are presented at checkout, require your affirmative acceptance, and are included in your booking confirmation.

Weather

At Tribeca Sailing, we understand that no one wishes to sail in dangerous weather. The captain of the vessel has sole discretion to cancel a charter due to inclement weather. Examples of inclement weather include thunderstorms, lightning, excessive or dangerous winds, and sustained heavy rain.

Most of our guests have a wonderful time even when conditions are not perfect. Your charter will proceed in light rain, cloudy skies, warm or cold temperatures, humidity, and small craft advisories. Sailing in imperfect weather is part of the experience.

We track and monitor conditions hourly and will make every effort to contact you approximately two hours before your scheduled start time if inclement weather is expected to affect your charter. Conditions can change suddenly and may result in last-minute cancellations.

Please plan on arriving on time for your scheduled sail, even if the forecast calls for rain. Weather forecasts are frequently inaccurate, and we ask for your patience with them. Charters will not be rescheduled based on weather forecasts of any kind.

Captain's Authority and Company Cancellations

The decision to depart, delay, shorten, or cancel any charter rests solely with Tribeca Sailing and the vessel's captain. In addition to weather, this authority extends to sea conditions, visibility, vessel or equipment condition, crew availability, harbor traffic restrictions, and any other factor bearing on the safety or lawful operation of the vessel. Under United States Coast Guard regulations, the captain's judgment on safety of navigation is final.

If Tribeca Sailing cancels your charter, you will be offered a one-time rescheduled sail or a charter credit for the full amount paid. The credit never expires, is fully transferable, and may be applied to any public or private sail on either of our vessels. Cash refunds are not issued for company cancellations. When we cancel, we will contact you with available rebooking dates and ask you to confirm your rescheduled sail or your acceptance of the credit in writing.

Booking Terms and Guest Cancellations

All bookings are final, and charter fees are non-refundable except as expressly provided below.

Optional 48-Hour Cancellation Protection. At the time of booking, you may add 48-Hour Cancellation Protection for an additional 20% of your charter fee. This 20% fee is non-refundable. With this protection, you may cancel your charter by telephone or email no later than 48 hours before your scheduled start time and receive a refund of your charter fee (the 20% protection fee is retained).

Guests who do not purchase 48-Hour Cancellation Protection, guests who cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, and guests who do not appear for their charter are not eligible for a refund or credit.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule your booking one time, subject to availability, by providing notice at least 48 hours before your scheduled start time and paying a rescheduling fee of $300.

No rescheduling is available within 48 hours of your scheduled start time for any reason, including illness, traffic, transit delays, or changes in your travel plans. Bookings not rescheduled in accordance with this section are forfeited in full.

Late Arrivals and No Shows

The vessel departs on schedule. Guests who are not present at the dock at the scheduled departure time forfeit the booking in full, with no refund, credit, or rescheduling.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance covering trip cancellation and interruption, or confirm whether your credit card provides such coverage as a cardholder benefit. We encourage all guests to review the trip cancellation and travel protection benefits offered by their credit card company or travel insurer, which may provide reimbursement in circumstances beyond your control.

Payment Disputes

By booking, you agree that this policy governs all cancellations and rescheduling, and you agree not to initiate a payment dispute or chargeback that is inconsistent with these terms. Tribeca Sailing retains records of your acceptance of this policy at checkout, your booking confirmation, and all related correspondence, and will submit them in response to any dispute.
